Powering a Sustainable Future

Commiting to a Cleaner Future
Promoting sustainable practices and reducing carbon emissions.

Our province is working towards a more sustainable future through green energy solutions, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting sustainable practices for a healthier planet.

Newfoundland and Labrador is committed to safeguarding the environment while advancing a green energy economy. By harnessing our abundant wind resources to produce green hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives, we are not only paving the way for sustainable energy solutions but also making a significant contribution to global efforts to achieve net zero.

Our evolution to green energy begins with utilizing Newfoundland and Labrador’s exceptional wind resources. Wind turbines will generate renewable electricity, which will then be used to produce clean fuels. This process produces green energy desired by the world and supports our environmental protection goals.

When wind power is used to electrolyze water, it produces hydrogen without any carbon emissions. This green hydrogen can then be used in various sectors such as transportation, industry, and energy storage, and thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
